    Voice chat is a modern form of chatting over the internet. It evolved from chat rooms in which users were able to chat using only text messages. Now, using voice chat, users can chat with both text messages and through live voice streams. This has led to a huge increase in long distance communications, as it lets two or more people from different parts of the world talk with little to no charge. Some popular providers of a live voice chat include skype, yahoo voice, windows live messenger, google talk, inspeak, and other VoIP providers. Some providers even include unique features such as being able to have a sort of conference call chat with multiple people voice chatting at the same time.
    Voice chatting has also become popular with online video games. Using voice chat, people playing against each other in multiplayer games can communicate using the voice chatting system. This has been released with numerous consoles including Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, and Nintendo DS. This allows players to communicate with each other during the games, making it a more social experience for gamers.
